RBI directives on banking charges reduction
Reserve Bank of India has issued strict instructions to banks to reduce fees related to:
Debit card usage charges
Minimum balance breach penalties
Late payment fees
Goal: make banking services more customer-friendly, transparent and affordable especially for low-income and rural users.
Major bank downtime scheduled
SBI, HDFC Bank & Kotak Mahindra Bank will undergo scheduled maintenance on 21 September 2025.
Some banking services will be unavailable during this period.
