1. Prime Minister Inaugurates Micron Semiconductor Facility in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Micron Technology’s semiconductor Assembly, Test, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) facility at Sanand, Gujarat.
The facility is part of India’s Semiconductor Mission aimed at building domestic chip manufacturing capability.
Micron Technology announced an investment of about $2.75 billion (approximately ₹22,500 crore) in the project.
The semiconductor plant will focus on assembly and testing of DRAM and NAND memory chips.
The project is expected to create 5,000 direct jobs and around 15,000 indirect jobs in the technology sector.
The initiative strengthens India’s objective of becoming a major global semiconductor manufacturing hub.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Conferred Israel’s Parliamentary Honour
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the “Speaker of the Knesset Medal”, the highest honour of the Parliament of Israel (Knesset).
The honour was awarded following his historic address to the Israeli Parliament.
The award recognizes his role in strengthening India–Israel strategic partnership.
India and Israel established full diplomatic relations in 1992, and cooperation has expanded in defence, agriculture, water management, and technology sectors.
3. Rajya Sabha Elections 2026
Elections for 72 seats of the Rajya Sabha are scheduled during March 2026.
Members of the Rajya Sabha serve a six-year term, with one-third of members retiring every two years.
The Rajya Sabha currently has 245 members, including 233 elected and 12 nominated by the President of India.
The elections are conducted using the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system through proportional representation.

4. Opening of the 2026 Winter Paralympics
The 2026 Winter Paralympic Games opened on 6 March 2026 in Italy.
