India Post specifically says candidates applying under this schedule must register afresh. Registration numbers generated under previous GDS schedules are not valid for this engagement.

GDS Job Nature

GDS positions are civil posts outside the regular civil services of the Central Government. The Department states that GDSs generally work four to five hours a day and are governed by the Gramin Dak Sevaks (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020, as amended.
