  • Application opened: 13 October 2026, 12:00 noon.
  • Last date: 11 November 2026, 11:00 PM.

For both posts, the essential educational qualification is Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognised board. The age limit is 18 to 27 years, reckoned as on 1 June 2026. The notification gives the date-of-birth range as 2 June 1999 to 1 June 2008, subject to applicable age relaxation. Educational qualifications and experience, where applicable, are determined as on 11 November 2026.

Pay scale and selection process

The advertisement specifies ₹5,200–20,200 plus Grade Pay ₹2,000 for both posts, Group C. Selection comprises an objective examination followed by an interview. The written test carries 100 marks, divided equally among English (25), Hindi (25), General Knowledge including Current Affairs (25) and Arithmetic (25). The duration is 120 minutes, or 160 minutes for PwBD candidates as specified in the advertisement. The paper is bilingual except for the respective language sections. Each question carries one mark and 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.

The interview carries 15 marks. Up to ten times the number of vacancies may be called for interview. Final merit is based on the written examination and interview. The notification specifies minimum qualifying marks of 50% for UR/EWS and 45% for OBC (Delhi), SC, ST, PwBD and ESM categories, subject to its detailed provisions. These are minimum qualifying marks, not necessarily the final selection cut-off.

Application fee and exemptions

The fee is ₹100, payable through SBI e-pay. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and eligible Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted. The notice contains an exception for certain Ex-Servicemen who have already secured regular civil employment after availing reservation benefits. The fee is non-refundable.

How to apply

  1. Open the official DSSSB online application portal.
  2. Complete one-time registration if you do not already have a DSSSB user ID and password.
  3. Log in and select post code 46/26 for Sweeper/Safai Karamchari or 47/26 for Chowkidar.
  4. Read the post-specific instructions and verify age, qualification and category details.
  5. Complete the form and upload documents in the prescribed format.
  6. Pay the applicable fee through SBI e-pay and submit before 11 November 2026, 11:00 PM.
  7. Save the final application and payment acknowledgement.

DSSSB describes registration as a one-time exercise. Multiple registrations can lead to cancellation/debarment if a candidate applies and appears more than once. Once submitted, the application cannot be corrected, including category details. Review every field before final submission.

Important reservation clarification for applicants outside Delhi

The notification specifies that only candidates eligible under the Government of NCT of Delhi’s notified OBC provisions receive Delhi OBC reservation benefits. Candidates holding OBC certificates from outside Delhi may be treated as unreserved unless they meet the detailed conditions stated in the advertisement. This point is particularly important for applicants from neighbouring states. Do not assume that an OBC certificate issued by another state automatically qualifies for Delhi OBC reservation.

Age relaxation and reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and ESM candidates are governed by the detailed rules and certificate requirements. Applicants should verify the issuing authority, validity and cut-off date before claiming a benefit.
