Nepal has officially joined the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA)

National Affairs

  • President Droupadi Murmu has given her assent to the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025, aimed at encouraging electronic sports while prohibiting harmful online money gaming services

  • The bill was introduced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Lok Sabha on August 20, 2025, and passed by both houses without debate

  • Offering online money gaming services will be punishable with imprisonment for up to three years and a fine up to Rs. 1 crore

  • Nepal has officially joined the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA), India’s global initiative to protect seven species of big cats by signing the framework agreement
