The notification is broader than a single engineering recruitment. The following summary is based on the vacancy table in the official 43-page advertisement.
| Post/discipline | Vacancies | Typical essential qualification in the notice |

Important: A broad post name does not make every qualification interchangeable. For example, a diploma in one engineering branch does not automatically qualify an applicant for another branch. Read the essential qualification and post code before paying any fee.
Pay levels and posting locations
Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Library Assistant ‘A’ and Nurse ‘B’ are listed at Pay Level 7, with a basic-pay range of ₹44,900–₹1,42,400. Technician ‘B’ and Draughtsman ‘B’ are at Level 3, ₹21,700–₹69,100. Fireman ‘A’ and the driver posts are at Level 2, ₹19,900–₹63,200, while MTS is at Level 1, ₹18,000–₹56,900. The advertisement gives approximate gross emoluments at the minimum of the pay level; actual take-home pay will depend on applicable allowances and deductions.
Most posts are associated with SDSC SHAR at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The notice identifies the Boiler Attendant post code for the Propellant Complex at Rasayani, Raigad, Maharashtra, and the separate Light Vehicle Driver ‘A’ vacancies under the Advanced Data Processing Research Institute (ADRIN) at Secunderabad, Telangana. It also states that selected staff may be posted to another Department of Space/ISRO centre or unit under the applicable transfer conditions.
Age limits and relaxation
As on 9 November 2026, the normal age band is 18–35 years for post codes 07–25, 27, 28 and 30. Fireman ‘A’ (code 26) and MTS (code 29) carry an 18–25-year band. The advertisement provides five years’ upper-age relaxation for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates against posts reserved for those categories; other eligible groups, including ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates, are governed by the applicable Government of India rules. Do not apply a relaxation to an unreserved vacancy unless the notification permits it.
Application fee: the amount depends on the post code
- Post codes 07–15: ₹750 processing fee per application. Candidates who appear for the written test receive a refund according to the notice: full refund for the specified exempt categories (women, SC/ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen); for other candidates, ₹500 is refunded after deduction of the ₹250 application fee.
- Post codes 16–30: ₹500 processing fee per application. Candidates who appear for the written test receive a full refund if in an exempt category; other candidates receive ₹400 after deduction of the ₹100 application fee.
Payment is online only. The notice ties the refund to appearing in the written test, so applicants should not assume that simply submitting a form guarantees a refund.
Selection process and written-test pattern
The process varies by post. For Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Library Assistant ‘A’, Technician ‘B’ and Draughtsman ‘B’, the notice specifies an 80-question multiple-choice written test lasting 90 minutes, with +1 for a correct answer, −0.33 for a wrong answer and zero for an unattempted question. The subsequent skill test is qualifying in nature; skill-test marks are not used to rank candidates for final selection. Nurse ‘B’, Fireman ‘A’, drivers and MTS have their own selection conditions, including physical/endurance or skill requirements where specified. MTS has a separate 100-question, 90-minute pattern covering numerical/mathematical ability, reasoning/problem-solving, general awareness and English, with a 0.25-mark penalty for a wrong answer.
Because selection rules are post-specific, applicants should read the relevant section of the official advertisement rather than rely on a generic “ISRO exam pattern”. The notification also lists written-test centres, but centre allocation remains subject to administrative feasibility.

Why this recruitment matters for competitive-exam candidates
The recruitment spans several qualification levels, so it is relevant to diploma holders, B.Sc. candidates, library-science graduates, nursing candidates, ITI tradespeople and matriculation-level applicants—not only engineers. For exam preparation, remember the recruiting centre’s full name, the Department of Space/ISRO connection, Sriharikota’s role as India’s spaceport, the post-wise pay levels and the deadline. These are also useful facts for general-awareness sections, but eligibility and application decisions must come from the official notice.
