International Yoga Day 2025
The 11th International Day of Yoga is being celebrated today (21.06.2025) with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlighting the connection between individual well-being and planetary health.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the national event from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, with over 3 lakh participants joining him in performing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP).
The ‘Yoga Sangam’ initiative features synchronized yoga sessions at over 1 lakh locations across India with an expected participation of over 2 crore people.
Ten signature events are being organized to commemorate the decade-long journey of IDY, each targeting specific segments of society.

Economic Updates
India is projected to maintain its position as the fastest growing large economy with a growth rate of 6.3% in FY 2025-26, according to the World Bank’s latest Global Economic Prospects report.
The Reserve Bank of India has projected Real GDP growth for 2025-26 at 6.5%, with Q1 at 6.5%, Q2 at 6.7%, Q3 at 6.6%, and Q4 at 6.3%.

Major Indian banks including State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank have reduced savings account interest rates in June 2025.
SBI has revised its interest rates on savings accounts to a uniform 2.5% per annum for all savings account balances, effective from June 15, 2025.
HDFC Bank has reduced the interest rate by 50 basis points—from 3.25% to 2.75%—per annum on balances of Rs 50 lakh and above, effective June 10, 2025.
ICICI Bank has also revised its interest rates on savings accounts, effective June 12, 2025, reducing the rate by 50 basis points from 3.25% to 2.75% on balances of Rs 50 lakh and above.
Bank of Baroda, Federal Bank, and IndusInd Bank have also revised their savings account interest rates in June 2025.

The Department of Posts under the Government of India has released the policy document for DHRUVA (Digital Hub for Reference and Unique Virtual Address), aiming to develop a standardized, geo-coded digital address system across the country.
