India is hosting the Global Conference on Women in Agri-Food Systems (GCWAS-2026) from 12–14 March 2026 in New Delhi.
The conference is organized at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Hall, ICAR Convention Centre, NASC Complex.
The event is hosted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
M. L. Jat, Director General of ICAR and Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), announced the initiative.
Objectives of the conference:
- Strengthen women’s participation in global agricultural and food systems.
- Promote inclusive agricultural innovation and policy reforms.
- Encourage international collaboration in food security and rural development.
The event includes global policymakers, agricultural scientists, researchers, and development institutions.

Jayant Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, received the India-UK Achievers Award 2026 in London.
He was honoured for his contribution to skill development initiatives and strengthening global cooperation in vocational training.
The recognition highlights India’s progress in skill-based education, entrepreneurship promotion, and workforce modernization.

World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2026 is being held in New Delhi from 11–13 March 2026.
The international event features:
- 257 para-athletes
- Participants from 8 countries
- Track and field competitions across multiple categories.
Key Indian para-athletes participating include:
- Sumit Antil – Tokyo Paralympics Gold Medallist (Javelin Throw)
- Mariyappan Thangavelu – Paralympics High Jump Champion
- Praveen Kumar – Paralympics High Jump Gold Medallist
The competition provides international classification opportunities for para-athletes and strengthens India’s global role in para-sports.

International Current Affairs

Escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East disrupted international cricket scheduling.
The Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka white-ball series, scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates, has been postponed indefinitely.
The decision was taken by the Afghanistan Cricket Board due to travel disruptions and security concerns.
