    • The policy stance was changed to ‘Neutral’ due to a softer inflation outlook and a need to maintain growth momentum.

    • Inflation projection for the year was revised downward to 3.7%, while GDP growth is expected to be lower amidst global economic challenges.

    • The RBI highlighted global uncertainties, including trade projections and technological disruptions, as ongoing risks to financial stability.

  • Vande Bharat Express Inaugurated for Kashmir

    • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) in Jammu & Kashmir, marking the first-ever all-weather railway connectivity for the region.

    • Two new Vande Bharat Express trains were flagged off, connecting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Srinagar.

    • Regular services on this route will commence from June 7, 2025, running six days a week.

    • The inauguration also included the opening of the iconic Chenab and Anji Khad railway bridges.

    • The summit will focus on partnerships with emerging and developing nations, acknowledging India’s role as a major global economy and supply chain partner.

    • The visit is seen as an opportunity to reset India-Canada relations, which had been strained since 2023.
