The board labels the vacancies tentative and based on requisitions from the indenting departments. The post-wise and category-wise figures in the advertisement—not a general headline total—should be used for preference and eligibility decisions.

Junior Engineer vacancies: department-wise distribution

DepartmentPostVacanciesPay level
New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)JE (Electric)67Level 6
Delhi Agricultural Marketing BoardJE (Electrical)3Pre-revised scale/GP as notified
Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD)JE (Electrical)26Level 6
Delhi Transco LimitedJE (Electrical)75Level 8
Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB)JE (Electrical)14Level 6

Qualifications vary by department. NDMC accepts a recognised degree in Electrical Engineering or a diploma with two years’ professional electrical-engineering experience. DAMB specifies a diploma and two years’ electrical installation/maintenance experience. MCD permits a degree or a diploma plus two years’ professional experience. Delhi Transco specifies a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, while DUSIB specifies a diploma. Age limits also differ: the advertisement gives 18–32 for NDMC, 18–27 for several departments and separate relaxations as applicable. A single blanket JE eligibility statement would therefore be misleading.

MTS vacancies and eligibility

MTS posts are distributed among the Directorate of Education, Department of Trade & Taxes, DUSIB, Directorate of Higher Education, Weights and Measures, Principal Accounts Office, Land & Building Department and Office of the Chief Electoral Officer. The Directorate of Education accounts for 757 MTS General Duty posts and 239 MTS–Aaya (female) posts; the remaining MTS vacancies are spread across the other listed departments.

  • Essential qualification: Matriculation/Class 10 or equivalent from a recognised board/institution; certain departmental entries also accept an ITI pass as stated in the detailed rules.
  • Age: generally 18–27 years, with prescribed category/departmental relaxations. The crucial date for eligibility is 11 December 2026.
  • Pay: Level 1, ₹18,000–₹56,900.
  • Experience: generally not required for the MTS posts listed, subject to the relevant recruitment rules.

Examination scheme

MTS (Post Code 810/26): one-tier general computer-based examination, two hours, 200 objective questions and 200 marks. The five areas—General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Arithmetical/Numerical Ability, Hindi Language & Comprehension and English Language & Comprehension—carry 40 marks each. Negative marking is 0.25 for each incorrect one-mark question. Final merit is based on the examination, subject to minimum qualifying criteria and eligibility verification.

Junior Engineer (Post Code 809/26): two-tier technical examination. Tier-I is two hours with 200 questions/marks: Section A covers general awareness, reasoning, numerical ability, Hindi and English (20 marks each), and Section B has 100 subject-specific questions. Tier-II is 2 hours 30 minutes and includes a 100-question/100-mark subject paper plus 50 application/problem-solving questions worth 100 marks. Tier-I is used for shortlisting; Tier-II marks contribute to final merit as prescribed. Negative marking applies—0.25 for a wrong one-mark answer and 0.50 for a wrong two-mark answer.

Preference and document-verification cautions

DSSSB conducts separate combined examinations for post codes 809/26 and 810/26. Department/post preferences are submitted when e-dossiers are called; the advertisement warns that preferences once confirmed are final and cannot be changed. Eligibility, experience, pay and PwBD suitability differ across departments. A candidate must verify each chosen department rather than assuming that qualification for one JE or MTS entry makes them eligible for all.

Admission and candidature remain provisional until the user department verifies documents and recruitment-rule conditions. Keep Class 10/12 certificates, diploma/degree, experience certificates, category/EWS/OBC-NCL certificates and identity details consistent with the application. The Board does not permit routine correction/modification after final submission, so review the preview carefully before submitting.

Preparation strategy

  • MTS: build a balanced routine across five sections; practise arithmetic and reasoning under time limits, revise current/static GK and strengthen Hindi/English comprehension.
  • JE: prioritise electrical engineering fundamentals and post-specific syllabus, while retaining a daily general-awareness/language practice block for Tier-I.
  • Use the official scheme to select mock tests; do not prepare from a generic SSC MTS or JE pattern without checking DSSSB’s own marks and negative-marking rules.
  • Follow DSSSB for exam dates, mock-test link, admit card, answer keys and corrigenda. No examination date has been announced in Advertisement 06/2026 itself.
