Last verified: 18 October 2026. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has revised the online application deadline for recruitment at its ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri, under Advertisement No. IPRC/RMT/2026/01. Eligible candidates can now submit applications up to 24 October 2026, 5:00 pm. The fee-payment deadline has been extended separately to 29 October 2026, 5:00 pm. These are two different deadlines, and candidates should not confuse the application closing date with the last date for paying the fee.
The notification covers 22 posts across Technical Assistant, Technician ‘B’, Cook ‘A’ and Fireman ‘A’. It is relevant to diploma holders, ITI-qualified candidates and applicants with the specified cooking experience or fire-service physical fitness. Read the full official advertisement before applying; the extension does not relax the qualifications, age limits or post-specific medical requirements.

The total of the posts above is 22. Reservation is post-specific: the notification includes UR, OBC, SC, ST and EWS allocations, as well as identified provisions for eligible ex-servicemen and persons with benchmark disabilities for particular posts. Do not assume that a reservation benefit applies to every discipline; use the post-code table in the official PDF.
Age limit and pay levels
For post codes 60–68 and Cook ‘A’ (post code 70), the advertisement states an age range of 18–35 years as on 5 October 2026. For Fireman ‘A’ (post code 71), the stated age range is 18–25 years as on that date. Applicable relaxations are described in the notification, including category-based relaxations where the post is reserved and provisions for other eligible groups under government rules. The revised application deadline does not automatically change the cut-off date used to calculate age.
- Technical Assistant: Pay Level 7, ₹44,900–₹1,42,400.
- Technician ‘B’: Pay Level 3, ₹21,700–₹69,100.
- Cook ‘A’: Pay Level 2, ₹19,900–₹63,200.
Allowances and benefits are governed by the applicable Department of Space/ISRO rules and the employee’s posting and eligibility. Read the advertisement for the complete terms rather than relying on a headline salary alone.
Selection process: what candidates should prepare
Technical Assistant and Technician ‘B’ candidates face a written test followed by a curriculum-based skill test. The advertisement states that final selection is based on written-test scores; the skill test is qualifying, on a GO/NO-GO basis.
- Technical Assistant and Technician ‘B’ written test: 80 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, based on the curriculum of the prescribed qualification. The notice specifies one mark for a correct answer and a deduction of 0.33 marks for a wrong answer.
- Cook ‘A’: 100 questions in 120 minutes, covering cooking knowledge and equipment, general knowledge, general English and arithmetic at SSLC/Matriculation level. The stated penalty is 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.
- Fireman ‘A’: 100 questions in 120 minutes. The listed syllabus includes basic chemistry relating to flammable liquids and gases, LPG properties, pressure-volume-temperature relationships, elementary geometry and volume, properties of gases and water, electrical hazards, Class X arithmetic, basic English, general knowledge and current affairs. The stated penalty is 0.25 marks for a wrong answer.
Fireman applicants must pay particular attention to the physical and medical conditions. The notice requires a preliminary medical examination certificate in the prescribed format to be uploaded with the application. It also specifies physical standards, a physical efficiency test and a detailed medical examination for candidates progressing through the stages. Review these requirements before applying; a written-test score alone does not complete the selection process for this post.

Why this recruitment matters for exam preparation
IPRC is a unit of ISRO responsible for liquid propulsion activities supporting launch vehicles and spacecraft. Its work includes research and development of propulsion systems, assembly and testing of engines and stages, high-altitude testing of upper-stage engines and spacecraft thrusters, and production and supply of propellants. This background is useful for candidates preparing for science and technology questions in government recruitment exams, but the immediate priority for applicants is the official post-specific syllabus.
For technical posts, revise the diploma or ITI curriculum named for the post instead of spending most of the remaining time on generic current affairs. Cook applicants should practise the specified trade knowledge alongside basic English, arithmetic and general knowledge. Fireman applicants should prepare the listed science and arithmetic areas and understand the physical test criteria in advance.
