Media reporting indicates an examination date of 22 October 2026, but candidates should treat the date, reporting time and venue printed on their individual call letter and the bank’s latest notice as controlling.
Where to find the call letter
- Open the official IOB Careers page.
- Find “Recruitment 2026–27” and the section “Recruitment of Security Guards”.
- Choose “Online Examination Call Letter Download Link”. Do not confuse this with Local Bank Officer or Generalist/Specialist Officer recruitment.
- Enter the credentials requested by the linked official portal, following its instructions.
- Download and save the PDF, then check the candidate name, registration details, photograph, date, reporting time and venue.

The Careers page lists the Security Guard recruitment advertisement, a corrigendum dated 2 September 2026, a pre-examination training notice, a notice on conduct of the online examination, an information handout and the call-letter link. Exam-day checklist
- Print the call letter in the format specified by the instructions.
- Carry the original photo identity document specified by the bank and any additional documents expressly required.
- Check the exact centre address, reporting time and gate-closing time; these are not necessarily the same as the exam start time.
- Plan travel with a buffer and confirm the venue before departure.
