IB MTS Final Result 2026 has been released by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the Intelligence Bureau Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS/General) recruitment. The final result was issued on 5 October 2026 for a recruitment drive involving 362 vacancies. Candidates can check the roll-number-wise merit/selection list through the official MHA website.
What happened?
The Intelligence Bureau, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has completed the final result stage for the MTS/General Examination 2025. The result is available as a PDF containing the roll numbers of candidates who qualified through the prescribed selection process.
Why it matters
A final result marks the transition from examination preparation to appointment-related formalities. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the final list should follow the instructions issued by MHA/IB for document verification, medical requirements and appointment or joining procedures. Candidates should rely on the official result PDF rather than unofficial selection claims.
Background
The Intelligence Bureau is India’s internal intelligence organisation under the Ministry of Home Affairs. MTS/General recruitment is aimed at support-level positions and is different from executive intelligence posts such as ACIO. This distinction is useful because several IB recruitment notices can appear close together.

What selected candidates should do next
Selection in the merit list does not mean candidates should stop monitoring the official portal. Subsequent communication may contain document verification, medical examination, character verification, appointment or joining instructions. Keep original educational, identity and category documents organised.
Understanding the selection journey
The recruitment involved a Tier-I computer-based examination followed by a Tier-II descriptive examination. Tier-I was held on 27 January 2026 and Tier-II on 12 July 2026. The final result therefore represents completion of a multi-stage recruitment process.
Exam relevance
This is primarily a result update, not a current-affairs quiz. For general awareness, revise the relationship between the Intelligence Bureau and the Ministry of Home Affairs and distinguish MTS/General recruitment from executive-level IB recruitment.
Important caution
Do not confuse this final result with an expected result or answer key. The final result dated 5 October 2026 is the relevant outcome for this recruitment. Candidates should use the official PDF for their individual selection status.
